The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is accepting applications from financial professionals, consumer advocates, academics and others to serve on various advisory boards and councils this fall.
The CFPB is looking for a diverse group of applicants with expertise in consumer protection, community development, consumer finance, fair lending, civil rights, and consumer financial products or services.
The three bodies the CFPB is looking to fill include 7 seats for the Consumer Advisory Board, 2 seats for Community Bank Advisory Council, and 6 seats for the Credit Union Advisory Council. Terms all start in the fall of 2017.
The groups are designed to provide the CFPB with perspectives, trends, and best practices in the consumer financial marketplace from experts in the field.
It also seeks representatives from banks that serve underserved communities, representatives from communities impacted by higher priced mortgage loans, employees of credit unions and community banks,
Academics, and experts in consumer finance markets and underserved populations.
Interested parties can apply online at the CFPB web site. Completed application packages must be received on or before March 1, 2017 to be considered for these positions.
