The Indiana Bankers Association (IBA) named Amber Van Til its president and chief executive officer, effective Jan 1.
Van Til had been serving as president and CEO since March 31, 2016, when she replaced Joe DeHaven, who retired. Van Til is the first female president and CEO of the IBA in its 120-year history. Also, Annette Russell, Security Federal Savings Bank, was appointed chair of the IBA board of directors, effective Jan. 1. She is the first woman to serve as chair of the board.
Van Til has been with the IBA since 2002, joining initially as a lobbyist. Since then she’s held a variety of titles including vice president-government relations, senior vice president-government relations, executive vice president, and president. In 2015 she was honored by the Indiana Society of Association Executives as Association Professional of the Year. In 2008 Van Til won the Best and Brightest award in the category of Banking & Financial Services from Junior Achievement of Central Indiana.
Van Til is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis and the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She also completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and earned a certificate of executive leadership from the UW Wisconsin School of Business.
