“Technology that helps Americans protect their privacy is critically important as it enables people to choose when and with whom to share sensitive data about themselves so they can be protected from bad actors,” SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce said. “Understanding recent developments in privacy-protecting tools will assist the SEC and other financial regulators as we work on policy solutions in the crypto space.”

The roundtable is open to the public, and registration is required. Visitors will be subject to security checks. For those who cannot attend, the event will be streamed live on SEC.gov and will be recorded to post online at a later date.

The task force will post the agenda and roundtable speakers on its webpage in the near future.

Peirce also will be speaking at DC Fintech Week and the DC Privacy Summit.

The Crypto Task Force helps the SEC draw regulatory lines, provide realistic paths to registration, craft sensible disclosure frameworks, and deploy enforcement resources judiciously. The public can communicate directly with the task force on topics and can request a meeting.
