The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) hired Bob Foster as the director of its Office of Public and Congressional Affairs.
Previously, Foster served as legislative director to Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MI) and deputy assistant secretary, Office of Legislative Affairs, at the U.S. Treasury Department.
He also served as staff director of the House Committee on Financial Services and legislative director and senior policy advisor to the late Rep. Michael Oxley (R-OH).
From 2008 to 2011, Foster was deputy director of NCUA’s Office of Public and Congressional Affairs.
“Bob’s extensive experience in financial legislation and regulation, combined with his previous service here at NCUA, make him particularly well-suited for this role,” Acting NCUA Board Chairman Mark McWatters said. “The Office of Public and Congressional Affairs is at the hub of the agency’s communications efforts, and I look forward to Bob’s counsel on how NCUA can be even more effective in this area.”
Foster holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
He succeeds former director, Todd Harper. McWatters expressed his appreciation for Harper’s service to the agency and his leadership regarding the charitable efforts of NCUA personnel. The agency’s Food Drive and Combined Federal Campaign Auctions reached record levels during Harper’s tenure.
