North Carolina-based First Citizens Bank recently named two area executives.

JP Connell will be responsible for the Charleston, S.C., region and surrounding area. He joined First Citizens Bank in 2018 in Colorado. He most recently served as the business banking manager for the bank’s Southern Coastal area.
Justin Rice will oversee the South Carolina Lowcountry region and Savannah, Ga. Rice joined First Citizens Bank in 2006 and served as market executive for the Lowcountry since 2015. He has worked in the Lowcountry market for nearly 20 years.
Both Connell and Rice will be responsible for leading business, commercial and branch banking operations, serving clients and managing teams in their regions.
“These appointments reflect a continued focus on these areas and on our efforts to build out the teams,” Shan Teel, First Citizens Bank, south regional executive vice president, said. “Both Justin and JP have deep ties to the region and share a strong commitment to their community.”

First Citizens Bank has had a presence in the South Carolina market for more than 75 years. It operates more than 100 branches.
