The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is hosting a workshop focused on the role of digital identity in improving financial services inclusion while countering illicit activity undermining domestic financial system integrity.
The FinCEN Innovation Hours Program is slated for Oct.14.
“The role of identity is critically important to FinCEN’s efforts to protect Americans and safeguard the U.S. financial system,” FinCEN Deputy Director AnnaLou Tirol said. “We encourage companies to register for this special Innovation Hours session and share solutions that can inform our ongoing work to identify criminal actors and networks and explore inclusive financial services options.”
Workshop participants include entities developing technologies, solutions or partnerships supporting the broad adoption of digital identity for multiple purposes within the financial services industry — such as FinTech and RegTech companies, as well as venture capital firms and financial institutions.
Interested entities should submit a request online no later than Sept. 24, 2021, and provide background information regarding their company’s business and innovative products.
The Innovation Hours Program serves as part of a broader FinCEN Innovation Initiative, which seeks to promote innovation by supporting pilot programs, as well as enhanced feedback and information sharing endeavors.
