Federal Reserve Board announced plans to host a series of diversity and inclusion conferences in November focusing on various topics.
The efforts would address underrepresented group experiences amid participation in the economy, the economics industry, central banking, and finance. Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome H. Powell would provide event opening remarks during each session.
The Nov. 8 conference will examine how gender influences economic and financial outcomes over an individual’s lifetime, emphasizing evidence-based strategies promoting an inclusive economy in the wake of navigating post-pandemic recovery.
The dialogue will include how early career choices can have a bearing on an individual’s employment outcomes and ability to build wealth, according to the session agenda, in addition to examining the potential impact of policies, decisions, and personal situations on the gender wealth gap as women reach retirement age.
Additionally, on Nov. 9, a second session hosted in conjunction with the Bank of Canada, the Bank of England, and the European Central Bank is expected to target research detailing diversity and inclusion in economics, finance, and central banking, with a panel discussion featuring current and former central bank personnel.
The Federal Reserve Board indicated the conferences would be webcast at www.federalreserve.gov and www.youtube.com/federalreserve.
