The deadline for Los Angeles wildfire survivors to complete the final steps necessary to accept their approved U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans is June 30. After that date, approved but undisbursed loan assistance will only be available on a case-by-case basis.
The SBA made low-interest federal disaster loans available to Southern California businesses, homeowners, renters, and private nonprofit organizations available following the wildfires and straight-line winds that began Jan. 7, 2025. Loans included physical disaster loans and economic injury disaster loans.
The agency extended disaster relief deadlines in response to recovery challenges, including state and local permitting delays, to give approved borrowers more time to draw down funds. On the first anniversary of the wildfires, the agency extended disbursement deadlines through June 30 for Los Angeles borrowers still waiting to move forward with repairs and reconstruction.
Los Angeles borrowers also may be eligible for an increase of up to 20 percent of their verified physical disaster damage to fund mitigation improvements that help protect homes or businesses from future disasters.
Borrowers must visit a local recovery center, scheduling an appointment at appointment.sba.gov, or go to the MySBA Loan Portal to complete the process of executing and accepting their disaster loans.
