Citizens Financial Group officials said the firm is expanding its partnership with financial technology firm FIS to enable Worldpay to process Card-to-Crypto transactions for leading digital asset companies.
“This initiative demonstrates Citizens’ innovative approach and commitment to serving our clients’ needs,” Michael Cummins, head of Treasury Solutions at Citizens, said.
Under the new agreement, crypto company customers, who are Worldpay clients, will be able to use their Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards to purchase cryptocurrency, NFTs, and other digital assets.
“Citizens is a key FIS partner that is once again demonstrating its commitment to client service and innovation,” Michelle Young,
GM head of Merchant Solutions for Financial Institutions, said. “Interest in cryptocurrencies has never been greater, and this expanded partnership will create a more reliable purchase experience for consumers across the country.”
The expanded Worldpay and Citizens collaboration provides cryptocurrency and other digital asset companies with payment processing solutions in the growing domestic market. Worldpay presently offers resources to seven of the top 10 cryptocurrency exchanges.
