The chairman-designate of the U.S. Joint Economic Committee (JEC), Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-OH), welcomed four new Republican members to the committee last week.
The latest appointees include Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA), Rep. Darin LaHood (R-IL), and Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL).
“I welcome our Committee’s new members and look forward to working together to encourage a better way forward for our nation,” Tiberi said. “I am confident the Joint Economic Committee will play a critical role supporting both the House and Senate to promote pro-growth policies that foster a strong environment to create jobs, boost wages, and allow Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money.”
These new appointees join Republican House majority committee members Reps. Erik Paulsen (R-MN) and David Schweikert (R-AZ).
Senate majority committee members include Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), vice chair-designate, Tom Cotton (R-NE), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), and Ben Sasse (R- AR).
House minority committee members include Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), John Delaney (D-MD), Alma Adams (D-NC), and Don Beyer (D-VA).
Senate minority committee members include Sens. Martin Heinrich (D-NM), ranking member-designate, Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Robert Casey (D-PA), and Gary Peters (D-MI).
Membership of the JEC for the 115th Congress has not yet finalized. The chair alternates between House and Senate every congress.
