Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency Executive Director Andrew Brisbo will serve as president.

“I look forward to working with the incoming board to move CANNRA forward in its mission over the course of the next year,” Brisbo said. “The work that is being done at CANNRA is vital for cannabis regulators – both in the states and territories that already have legalized cannabis and for ongoing federal policy discussions.”

The two-day session involved over 150 government officials from 33 different states and territories, focusing on a debrief of an external stakeholder meeting CANNRA conducted with an array of regulatory stakeholders; updates from CANNRA special committees; specific discussions about lab testing, licensing, equity, hemp, and medical cannabis; and discussions regarding CANNRA’s goals for the coming year.

“It was immensely valuable to bring our members together for the first in-person member meeting since our founding in 2020,” CANNRA Executive Director Gillian Schauer said. “I am excited about the deep exchange of information across member jurisdictions, our new board and the possibilities for our work in 2022-2023.”

The incoming board is made up of cannabis regulators from states with varied geography and cannabis policies.
