International provider of consumer cannabis products Curaleaf Holdings initiated adult use cannabis sales at each of its four Maryland dispensaries on July 1, the official first day of legal, adult use sales in the state.

“Over the past few years it has been incredible to witness the continued expansion of legalization across the East Coast,” Curaleaf CEO Matt Darin said, noting the company is proud to be a part of the historic day while serving the growing community of cannabis consumers across the region.

Curaleaf officials noted at each of the company’s four locations consumers over the age of 21 will be able to purchase from Curaleaf’s assortment of industry-leading products and brands that include Grassroots, Select Elite vapes and the breakthrough hardware, Cliq by Select.

Meanwhile, operators of the cannabis company Trulieve Cannabis Corp. said it has three cannabis dispensaries in the state open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

“We are proud to be part of history as the state expands to include adult use,” Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers said. “We look forward to commemorating the occasion on Saturday alongside the many Marylanders who voted for the freedom to use cannabis for personal consumption.”

Trulieve officials maintain the company is poised for accelerated growth and expansion, building scale in retail and distribution in new and existing markets through its hub strategy.
