U.S. Reps. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) and Tom Suozzi (D-NY) recently joined members of the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) at the U.S Capitol to urge bipartisan action to modernize the immigration system.

The Dignity Act of 2025 is a bipartisan plan to restore order at the border, strengthen the work force, and bring stability to workers and families. The Dignity Act of 2025 has gained the support of nearly 50 national organizations and more than 20 members of Congress.
At the Secure America’s Workforce press conference, business leaders shared firsthand accounts of how work force instability has created economic and community challenges. Salazar thanked ABIC for its advocacy and stressed that the Dignity Act of 2025 is the only bipartisan solution to address immigration. Suozzi called for urgent bipartisan cooperation.
“We have a 1.7 million worker shortage in critical industries, and 1.2 million immigrant workers have disappeared from the labor force just this year,” Salazar said. “These are not strangers. They are the people who harvest our crops, build our homes, care for our loved ones, and keep our businesses open. The truth is an enforcement-only approach is not a strategy. It weakens our economy, hurts small businesses, and risks removing the very workers who make America run.”
