Dubois to lead MBA’s Opens Doors Foundation

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) announced this week the appointment of Deborah Dubois to serve as the organization’s Opens Doors Foundation president.

MBA Opens Doors provides rental and mortgage payment assistance to families with critically ill children, allowing parents and guardians to be by a child’s side during treatment, without fear of jeopardizing their home.

“Deborah Dubois brings years of philanthropic and nonprofit executive experience, which will take the MBA Opens Doors Foundation to the next level,” Debra W. Still, president and CEO of Pulte Mortgage and MBA Opens Doors Foundation chairman, said. “We have come very far in just five short years, and as President, Deborah will ensure we have the added resources to continue to grow and fulfill our mission of aiding families in need of our help.”

MBA officials said Dubose’s role would include spearheading the development and execution of a long-term strategic plan, expanding the Foundation’s donor base and overseeing all of its day-to-day activities.

“It is an honor to join the Foundation and a privilege to help families who face the unbelievable choice of being with their child at such a critical time, or going to work to keep a roof over their heads,” Dubois, who previously served as chief development officer for the Center for Public Integrity, said.

Officials said MBA Opens Doors has made 1,800 grant awards to eligible families since 2012. Through the generosity of the MBA, the Foundation is able to pass on 100 percent of the donations it receives to families in need of assistance.
