Wyoming commissioner named chair-elect of CSBS

Albert Forkner, commissioner of the Wyoming Division of Banking, was named chairman-elect of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) board of directors.

Forkner replaces former Ohio Superintendent Charles Dolezal, who resigned before his term was up. Forker has served as Wyoming banking commissioner since 2012. In that role, Forkner works to promote a banking environment that is fair, safe, and convenient for consumers while allowing for economic development.

He previously served as assistant banking commissioner and later acting banking commissioner of Wyoming.

The CSBS board also appointed Mississippi Commissioner Charlotte Corley as vice-chairman; South Dakota Director Bret Afdahl as treasurer; and Minnesota Deputy Commissioner Shane Deal as secretary. Texas Banking Commissioner Charles Cooper will remain chairman of the board.

CSBS is the national organization of bank regulators from all 50 states, American Samoa, District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. State regulators supervise roughly three-quarters of all U.S. banks and a variety of non-depository financial services. CSBS also operates the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System to license and register non-depository financial service providers in the mortgage, money services businesses, consumer finance and debt industries.
