The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently appointed John Moses as the agency’s Office of Investor Education and Assistance director. The office provides services and resources to help investors build their financial futures and protect against investment fraud.

“John is an effective communicator who demonstrates a sincere passion for investor outreach and brings as much enthusiasm as he does wisdom to this position,” SEC Chairman Paul Atkins said. “Investor education is fundamental to our mission of protecting investors, and John possesses the exact skills and experience necessary to ensure our Office of Investor Education and Assistance – and our agency as a whole – are serving Americans as they participate in our dynamic capital markets.”
Moses joined the SEC in 2016 and served in a variety of positions including Office of the Chairman managing executive, Office of Investor Education and Assistance acting director and Office of Investor Education and Assistance deputy director.
“My colleagues in the Office of Investor Education and Assistance have consistently proven their dedication to serving the tens of thousands of investors who contact our agency each year with investment-related questions and concerns,” Moses said.
Prior to the SEC, Moses served in the military and worked in the private sector experience in real estate and operations leadership.
