In addition, 126,607 annual reports were filed with the secretary of state’s Corporations Division.

“New Hampshire is one of the best states in the country to start a business,” Secretary of State David Scanlan said. “ I’m proud of the work of our Corporations Division, whose straightforward, online registration process supports the continued formation of small businesses, the backbone of our thriving economy.”

In recent years, the state has seen a steady increase in trade name registrations and LLC formations. The number of businesses and corporations using NH Quick Start, secretary of state’s online business dashboard, to file annual reports, request certificates of good standing, and register trade names also has increased.

“I’m glad to see more small businesses and entrepreneurs choosing to start and grow in New Hampshire!” Governor Kelly Ayotte said. “ Our state’s unmatched economic advantage, business-friendly environment, and excellent quality of life have made us the best place to do business, and we will work every day to keep it that way.”
