Independent Community Bankers of America hires new congressional relations vp

The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) hired Amy Forester Roberti as vice president of congressional relations.

“As a member of ICBA’s congressional relations team, Amy will help advance ICBA’s policy positions with key legislative and regulatory policymakers,” Paul Merski, ICBA’s group executive vice president for congressional relations and strategy, said. “Amy’s experience in the financial services sector, along with her past success in advocating for her clients on Capitol Hill, will greatly benefit ICBA and community banks across the nation.”

Roberti joins ICBA from the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers where she served as vice president of industry affairs. In that role, she represented the council and its members before both federal agencies and Congress.

Before that she worked for 10 years at Liberty Mutual Group where she helped the Fortune 100 company develop and formulate its policy advocacy strategy.

At ICBA, Roberti will lobby for the association’s pro-growth regulatory relief agenda for community banks in Congress. The agenda is outlined in ICBA’s 2017 Plan for Prosperity platform. ICBA represents nearly 6,000 community banks throughout the United States.

Roberti holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Penn State University.
