Fromer picked to lead Financial Services Forum

Kevin Fromer was recently named president and CEO of the Financial Services Forum, a financial and economic policy organization comprised of executives of financial services firms.

“I am honored and eager to join the Financial Services Forum, an organization uniquely positioned to advocate for policies that will help the economy and encourage a competitive global marketplace,” Fromer said.

Fromer is currently the head of government affairs and public policy for HSBC North America Holdings, where he is responsible for public policy and government affairs at the federal and state levels.

Before joining HSBC, Fromer was senior advisor to the chairman and chief executive of Legg Mason Global Asset Management. Between 2005 and 2009, he served as assistant secretary of the Treasury for Legislative Affairs in the U.S. Department of the Treasury. There he received the Alexander Hamilton Award, the Treasury Department’s highest honor, for his contribution to the government’s response to the financial crisis. Prior to the Treasury, Fromer worked on Capitol Hill in various roles, including assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for Policy, chief of staff to Rep. Harold Rogers (R-KY), and associate staff of the House Appropriations Committee.

Fromer serves on the boards of the British American Business, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the National Presbyterian School, the Organization for International Investment, and the Corporate Advisory Council of Children’s National Health System. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
