Business Roundtable, an association of more than 200 CEOs from U.S. leading companies, recently appointed Kristen Silverberg as its next president and CEO.
Silverberg has served as president and chief operating officer since 2022. She previously served as executive vice president of policy. Prior to joining the association, she served in senior positions at the White House, as an assistant secretary of state and as U.S. ambassador to the European Union during President George W. Bush’s administration. She also was Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ law clerk.
After accepting her new role, Silverberg emphasized the importance of the Business Roundtable’s mission and the role American companies hold in championing and delivering economic growth and jobs.
“Kristen has been instrumental in positioning the organization and its leaders as effective advocates for policies that help American businesses grow and innovate while expanding opportunity for workers and communities across the country,” Chuck Robbins, Business Roundtable board of directors chairman, said. “The board is delighted that Kristen will lead the organization at this important moment for American business and our economy.”
Silverberg will succeed Joshua Bolten who is stepping down on Jan. 31.
“We are deeply grateful for his service and for the extraordinary foundation he has built,” Robbins said.
