TD Bank U.S. unveiled TD Credit Assist at the 2026 Evident AI Symposium in New York on Thursday. Credit Assist is an AI capability that reduces the time required to prepare a first-draft commercial credit analysis from up to three working days to less than 30 minutes.
A credit review often involves 20 to 30 deal documents spanning more than 50 document types. Credit Assist uses specialized AI agents to process, extract, analyze and organize the information into multiple sections with citations. Each section undergoes the process of analysis, review and refinement, and credit professionals receive a cited draft they can question, verify and refine.
“Credit Assist is a great example of how we’re simplifying and optimizing the way we work,” Jill Gateman, TD Bank U.S. head of commercial banking, said. “By reducing time spent on manual preparation, our credit professionals can focus more of their time on understanding the client, assessing risk and moving opportunities forward, while maintaining the rigor and accountability that are fundamental to good lending decisions.”
Input from more than 70 domain experts and 220 curated deals were used to test the tool. During testing, 95 percent of outputs passed subject-matter expert review.
TD Bank U.S. has a network of approximately 1,050 locations.
