The Huntington National Bank recently hired Christopher Wood to join its Commercial Bank leadership team as executive managing director of capital markets and sponsor coverage, effective in March. Capital markets help corporate and sponsor-owned companies finance investments, acquisitions and other transactions.
In his new role, Wood he will lead a team that will aid corporate and private equity clients in the commercial and middle market segments. The team offers syndicated and leveraged finance, corporate finance, and sponsor coverage, and Wood will be tasked with efforts to help grow these areas. He will be based in the Charlotte, N.C., office.

Huntington Commercial Bank expanded its middle market banking presence this year into North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas, and purchased Capstone Partners, a middle market investment bank and advisory firm.
